Description

A knob with a brim, on a pedestal.

A smooth domed cap whose edge is cut by one fine stepped ring, like a low hat brim, over a slender waisted stem and a flared pedestal base widening to a flat disc. One brass screw supplied.

Left unlacquered, the brass is alive. It starts warm and golden, then darkens where hands reach it, keeping its light where they do not. Within a few months it settles into a deep amber with darker tones in every recess, a finish no coating can imitate. If you prefer it bright again, a soft cloth and a little brass polish bring it back in minutes.

Turned and finished by hand in solid brass. No plating, no lacquer, no shortcuts.

Solid unlacquered brass has a soul. With no sealant to hide behind, it breathes with your home, deepening over time into a warm patina that is yours alone. No two ever age the same way.

If you love the patina: do nothing. Let it live. A dry cloth after use keeps the tone even as it darkens.
If you prefer the shine: a minute with brass polish, or lemon and baking soda, brings back the bright gold. Always reversible.
What to skip: bleach, vinegar, and abrasive pads. They patina the metal unevenly.

Free shipping to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, on every order. Orders leave within 2 to 4 business days and arrive 6 to 8 business days later, tracked.

60 days to change your mind. If the piece is not right, contact us within 60 days of delivery and we send you a prepaid return label. Return shipping is on us and there is no restocking fee. The item must come back unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.

Will the unlacquered finish tarnish over time?

Yes and that's exactly the point. We leave our brass and copper bare so they develop a living patina, deepening and warming with everyday use. It isn't damage or a defect; it's the finish maturing into something richer.

Are these really handmade?

Yes, genuinely. Each piece is cast, shaped and hand-finished in small batches, not stamped out on an assembly line. Because a person finishes every one, no two are exactly alike, small variations in the surface and patina are the mark of a piece made by hand, not a flaw.

Are your pieces solid metal, or plated?

Solid, all the way through, solid brass and solid copper, never a thin plating over zinc. That's why our pieces can be polished, refinished and passed down rather than replaced. The metal you see on the surface is the metal throughout.

How long will my order take?
